Job description

As a Camera Store Keeper, you will play a crucial role in the effective management and organization of camera equipment and related accessories within the store. Your responsibilities will include receiving, storing, and issuing camera equipment, maintaining accurate inventory records, assisting customers with their inquiries, and ensuring that the store operates smoothly.

  1. Inventory Management:

    • Receive, inspect, and record incoming camera equipment and accessories.

    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date inventory records using computerised systems.

    • Conduct regular stock checks to ensure proper levels of inventory are maintained.

    • Monitor and report any discrepancies, damages, or losses promptly.

  2. Customer Assistance:

    • Greet and assist customers in a friendly and knowledgeable manner.

    • Provide information and guidance on various camera products and accessories.

    • Process customer transactions accurately, including sales, returns, and exchanges.

  3. Organization and Display:

    • Ensure the store is well-organized, and products are neatly displayed.

    • Arrange and replenish stock on shelves, racks, or display cases.

    • Implement effective merchandising strategies to promote featured products.

  4. Maintenance and Cleaning:

    • Inspect camera equipment for damages and coordinate with the maintenance team for repairs.

    • Keep the store and display areas clean and presentable at all times.

  5. Stock Replenishment:

    • Monitor stock levels and initiate reorder requests to replenish inventory.

    • Coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of new stock.

  6. Compliance and Security:

    • Adhere to all store policies and procedures.

    • Implement security measures to prevent theft or unauthorised access.

    • Cooperate with security personnel during routine checks.

  7. Technical Knowledge:

    • Stay informed about the latest camera equipment, technology, and industry trends.

    • Assist customers with technical queries and provide basic product troubleshooting.

Job requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certification in retail management is a plus

  • Proven experience in a similar role, preferably in a camera or electronics store

  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills

  • Excellent customer service and communication skills

  • Basic knowledge of camera equipment and photography techniques

  • Proficient in computerized inventory management systems

  • Physical ability to lift and move camera equipment
