Job description

We are currently looking for Compositors to join our growing VFX teams in Chennai to work on upcoming features and episodic work. 

The role will be to work alongside experienced VFX Supervisors and other VFX Artists creating all types of Visual Effects for high-end Commercials and feature film projects. Digitally trace areas within live-action frames where CG characters, backgrounds, or effects will be integrated with the live-action footage. Compositors work closely with leads and supervisors to help them integrate all elements of an image, including CG and live action, to create film visual effects shots.

Reporting to the Compositing Supervisor, the Compositor harmonizes all layers and elements to create the final and complete shot for live-action feature films. Working primarily in Nuke, they are responsible for continuity and understanding the full CG process.

Job requirements

  • Develop creative approaches, computer graphic elements, miniature and CGI sources, seamlessly integrate all the layers.

  • To seamlessly integrate all the layers or elements of a shot, including live-action and computer graphic elements.

  • Needs to do Blue / green screen extractions.

  • Seamless integration of live action, miniature and CGI sources.

  • Take part in client reviews and follow production methodologies.

  • Experience in using Nuke, and strong eye for details.

Essential Skills:

  • Minimum 4+ years of working knowledge of and production experience with Nuke

  • CGI compositing experience using multi-layer EXR formats

  • Knowledge of projection mapping

  • A strong eye for detail, composition, color and lighting

  • Knowledge of film resolution and aspect ratios

  • Previous experience working with Linux and Windows

  • Integrating 2D, 3D and live action elements to high-end visual effects

  • Matte extractions from blue/green screens

Desirable Skills:

  • Expert in Nuke

  • Knowledge of Mocha is an advantage

  • Past experience as Roto and Prep Artist would be preferred.
